Lake Travis is the lake people think of when they think of Austin. Fed by the Colorado River, it holds some of the clearest lake water in central Texas. Surrounded by beautiful hilltop homes, breathtaking patio restaurants, and booming school districts, this is a favorite area to the locals and folks moving to the Austin area, especially those that enjoy the outdoors or are seeking a serene lifestyle. With attractions unique to the area, such as Austin Salt Cave or Lakeway Resort & Spa- there is no shortage of opportunities to relax and unwind.

If outdoor activities are more your scene, you can visit Hamilton Greenbelts which has several access points, or Lakeway Zipline Adventures if you're seeking a little thrill. Mansfield Dam Park offers beautiful views of Lake Travis where you can picnic or set sail on the largest public boat ramp on Lake Travis. If golf is your favorite past-time, some of the legendary golf course neighborhoods find home in Lakeway- including Falcon Head, the only PGA course in Austin.

The Hills is a luxury gated golf community with a private country club and tennis club. Steiner Ranch is home to the Texas Longhorns Golf Course with a private country club and several sections of gated communities containing two outstanding elementary schools within the community. Lakeway is anchored by the south by three master-planned communities of Sweetwater Ranch, Rough Hollow, and Flintrock. On the north end of Lakeway sits Old Lakeway including Cardinal Hills, Costa Bella, Vineyard Bay, Arbolago, and Hudson Bend. Lakeway is home to the Lake Travis Independent School District, which is one of the leading districts in Texas with an athletic program at the top of the country.
